108 Sun Salutations | Modo Yoga Kingston

Heart & Stroke Fundraiser

In yoga, the number 108 refers to spiritual completion. It is why japa malas are composed of 108 beads, why pranayama is often completed in cycles of 108, and why sun salutations are often performed in nine rounds of the 12 postures (totalling 108). By practicing chanting, breath work, or asana in rounds of this sacred number, the ancient yogis believed we could align ourselves with the rhythm of the creation, and ultimately bring an end to our cycle of reincarnation.

Join Nikkoel at our studio Saturday February 23rd for an afternoon of 108 salutations and align your own rhythm with your amazing heart!
February marks Heart and Stroke month so come on out and join in this challenge where all proceeds/donations will be given to support our local heart and stroke foundation.

Special guest Cory Watkins, Manager of Community Fundraising with the Kingston Foundation will be in attendance to give information about the organization and what our dollars and awareness can do.

Whether you’re an avid yogi or just coming out to show your support, there is room enough for us all to make a difference. We hope to see you there, our generous community with hearts on our sleeves.
